Gallagher’s Incredible Year of Support for Hope Rescue

Over the past 12 months, the team at Gallagher has shown what corporate social responsibility truly means. Their unwavering support for Hope Rescue has not only made a tangible difference to the lives of countless dogs, but has also shown just how impactful one business can be when compassion and commitment come together.

Hope Rescue CEO Vanessa Waddon said: “You can truly see they care for the dogs and want to give in every way they can. It gives us hope that we will be able to continue to be there for the dogs who need us most, when we know there are businesses like Gallagher there to support us.”

More than 500 Hours of Volunteer Work – and So Much More

Over the past year, Gallagher have donated a staggering 524 volunteer hours—a contribution that would have cost Hope Rescue over £10,480 in labour costs if carried out by a general labourer, or up to £15,720 for skilled work like painting and gardening.

“To put that into perspective, if the rescue team had tried to complete that work themselves, it would have taken two staff members 66 full working days—or nearly 20 weeks when factored around their day-to-day responsibilities. “It’s an amazing contribution and incredibly impressive.” said Gary Walton, Facilities Manager at Hope Rescue.

But Gallagher didn’t stop at volunteering their time.

Donations, Sponsorships & Fundraising That Truly Make a Difference

In addition to hands-on help, Gallagher have gone above and beyond by:

  • Donating food, toys, and bedding for the dogs in care
  • Running donation drives for Hope Rescue charity shops
  • Attending events—including buying two tables at the Hope Rescue Ball
  • Donating raffle and auction prizes
  • Donating over £8,000 since the start of 2024
  • Sponsoring the Hope Rescue calendar for 2025 - and recently confirming their 2026 sponsorship

They are also gearing up for even more support. Gallagher is planning a sponsored Ride, Run and Walk event at Rhydyfelin Rugby Club on Saturday, 9th August 2025, filled with exciting challenge activities to raise funds for the charity. One team member, Charlotte, has just run the Swansea Half Marathon in aid of Hope Rescue.

Michelle Thomas from Gallagher said:

A Shining Example of Corporate Partnership

“Corporate partnerships manager at Hope Rescue, Jade Lewis said: “When we reflect on the full scope of Gallagher' contributions—volunteer hours, physical labour, financial donations, event participation, and community engagement—it’s clear that they are more than just supporters.

"They are true partners in our mission. “Their incredible generosity shows just how much of a difference a business can make, and serves as a shining example of how corporate support can help animal welfare charities like ours survive—and thrive. “To the whole team at Gallagher: thank you. You’ve given us hope—and, more importantly, you’ve given countless dogs a second chance.”
