Since October 2014, solicitors in England and Wales can donate residual client account balances of up to £500 to a registered charity without authorisation from the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA).

Unclaimed client funds can be time-consuming to manage — they require annual accounting and reconciliation, creating unnecessary administrative burden. If reasonable efforts have been made to identify and contact the rightful owner, these funds can instead be put to good use.

By donating unclaimed client balances to Hope Rescue, you’ll be supporting vital work to save and care for vulnerable dogs across South Wales. From abandoned strays to dogs removed from illegal breeders, your donation helps provide them with food, shelter, medical care, and a second chance at a happy life.

For balances over £500, you can still donate to Hope Rescue with written SRA authorisation.
