We can’t quite believe that it’s already been six months since we launched our new Hope in Community Programme. In response to ever rising numbers of dogs and owners at crisis point and the need for more trusted, expert support in our local communities, we set out to:

  • Help more dogs and people to stay together, where mutually beneficial
  • Promote positive, responsible dog guardianship
  • Work together with local partners to help tackle issues leading to poor welfare and harm for both dogs and people.

We have been working with Communities in Rhondda Cynon Taf, Bridgend, Merthyr Tydfil and the Western Vale of Glamorgan in four ways:

Over our first few months of work, we have met some inspirational dog owners and partners and have been learning loads. Thank you again to the National Lottery Community fund for making this possible.

We thought this was a good time to pause and share some of our progress so far.

You can find more Hope in the Community Blogs coming soon on our Hope in the Community webpage.
